 School Games

Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

Our school games' mission is to put physical activity and competitive sports at the heart of schools and allow young people to compete and achieve their personal best.

We aim to inspire young children to be physically active for life by providing every child with a positive experience in an environment where the young person’s motivation, competence and confidence are at the centre of the competition.

This Autumn half term, we have set up 9 Inter-school leagues in Basketball, Football and Netball across the RBKC borough, engaging with 21 primary schools.

We have also held six school game tournaments across RBKC, including netball, quicksticks hockey, and girls' football. The winners represent RBKC at the School Game National finals, which also serves as a pathway to the London Youth Games.

The School Games is a government-led programme funded by Sport England National Lottery and the Youth Sport Trust.
